Job Title: Lead Game Designer and Lead Level Designer
Duties
As a Lead Game Designer, my goal is to create new and interesting mechanics to improve the game´s puzzles. The creation of new and exciting enemies is an important part of my job also as these enemies will interact with the player and puzzle mechanics creating new and more intricate situations.
As a Lead Level Designer, it is my job to create new levels where all of the mechanics are fully used. I also need to have in mind the difficulty curve of the game, so the player won´t get frustrated with increasing complexity of the puzzles. I also assemble the levels and play test them.
Having both of these roles puts me in an interesting position, as I can create a puzzle with a mechanic that does not exist yet and also create this new mechanic at the same time. This gives me liberty to think of wackier puzzles (to an extent) without having to be restricted by only using existing mechanics.
